Fargo tap water named best in North Dakota — Horace Government news

BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) The City of Fargo has the best-tasting tap water in North Dakota, according to a panel of judges and water industry professionals this week. Fargo earned the top honor at the annual Drinking Water Taste Test held during the 98th annual North Dakota Water and Pollution Control Conference in Bismarck. The victory marks the fifth time the city has claimed the statewide title, following previous wins in 2011, 2014, 2022, and 2023. About 70 conference attendees took part in a blind taste test, comparing municipal tap water samples from Bismarck, Fargo, Grand Forks, and Valley City. A panel of three judges then scored the finalists to determine the champion. The final judging panel included Rebecca Venot, vice president of the American Water Works Association; Tressa Cook, an environmental scientist with the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality; and Zach Kubas, young professionals committee chair for the AWWA North Dakota Section.
